At Winona Park, we are
challenging ourselves to be better Christians. One of those challenges is to
make a commitment to spend twenty minutes a day reading and studying God's Word.
Are you up for the challenge?
One suggested plan for
reading the Bible in a year can be found
here.
No matter what plan you
choose, or how much you read a day, you are challenged to give God a few minutes
of your time spent in His Word. You won't regret it!
Here are some thoughts you
might find helpful to keep you on target during your daily reading.
-
Talk to other church
members about your weekly reading and its effect on you.
-
Many people find that
reading the Bible as early in the day as possible makes it a priority.
(However, you must find a schedule to fit your lifestyle.)
-
Seasoned Bible readers
(those who have read the Bible through many times) are encouraged to share
your growth experiences with others.
-
Keep track as you read
each portion. Print one of the online checklists and check off as you read
each section.
-
Find an accountability
partner who can encourage you in your spiritual study.
-
If you fall behind,
don't quit! Just pick back up right away and catch up.
-
Begin to include
devotional readings along with your Bible reading.
-
ALWAYS include a
prayer time along with your Bible reading time.
-
Keep a Bible in your
car, at work, and at home. Purchase a pocket one to keep with you all the
time. You can even buy eBibles for PDAs.
